What does it mean to be healthy?
According to the Oxford Dictionary: “In a good physical or mental condition; in good health.”
For me it’s about waking up in the morning and feeling good, about yourself, about your fitness and about life.
As mentioned many, many times I am lazy – and the challenge of health month has made me that little bit less lazy, and I am proud of that. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy going to bed at 8pm, but I always make sure I think of something positive that happened that day or plan my next trip to the gym, I am even acutely aware of when I smoke which is a good beginning since I plan to quit this year.
There’s this attitude, through the likes of social media, that we need to be the same as all of the influences, celebrities and your best friends high school mate you occasionally stalk for outfit inspiration. At the end of the day we are all unique, we will never look exactly like that person, or have their oddly inspirational positive outlook on life and for me, if you embrace yourself, look after yourself and have confidence in who you are it feels 100x better to be you and no one else.
There is no excuse not to take a step back and take a minute to look after yourself and from what I have learned this month, it makes you feel so much better.
