It’s not every day you are in a cavernous warehouse in Brooklyn watching an entirely British television programme, but that’s exactly what happened last night.
We were lucky enough to get free tickets to The Grand Tour Premiere held within the Duggal Greenhouse, a fantastic venue. As you walked in your were offered sweets, pretzels, popcorn and alcohol with the entrance of the venue opening up to a cinema set up.
As we sat down to an introduction to the programme Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond appear – the crowd went wild. They had to tell us to physically sit down because everyone was so excited.
The show was great, with many laughs, painful Dad jokes and a shocking ending resulting in Hammond once again being involved in a terrible car crash. (Not a spoiler as it was in the news).
The cinema screen/curtain then falls down to reveal a vast hallway with sofas, a bar, a carvery and snack table. Luckily I was one of the first to the carvery so I piled my plate high, it’s been a while since I have had such a delicious roast.
With a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline and surrounded by beautiful sports cars, none of us could quite believe the scenario we found ourselves in. But, we definitely made the most of it.
A big thank you to Mountbatten and Parish Pr.
