Have you met….Petite Style Diaries?

I met Bex at a bloggers brunch, and as soon as we left that breakfast spot I shot onto her Instagram and had a good old stalk.

I can relate to her as I am also of the short variety and have a terrible time finding anything that is the perfect length, so it is safe to say I am now an avid fan of her fashion adventures.

Bex has a knack for fashion that I want and need,  I admire anyone who can put a beautiful outfit together for day to day life, because I fail miserably at this.

Bex, can you dress me please?….wait that sounds weird….can you be my personal stylist please?

Have you met…. Petite Style Diaries?

Why the name The Petite Style Diaries?

Firstly, I’m 5ft nothing so am very much petite! Secondly, I felt like us petite girls were largely underrepresented in the blogosphere, particularly within the fashion sector. Although there has been a surge in ‘petite’ clothing lines, it’s still super helpful and inspiring for us short-legged gals to see that we can wear thigh high boots and maxi dresses! The ‘diary’ part basically comes from the idea that as I document my outfits, posts would come alongside, and it’s something I (and others) can look back on.

Describe your blog in three words:

Chatty, visual, and a Sunday morning read.

What made you start your blog?

I’ve always been interested in fashion (and an avid shopper of clothes and shoes!). My style is my way of communicating who I am so I like to have my own little corner on the internet that lets me express this. Also – I’d like to think that it might inspire someone out there.

Where do you live and what are your three favourite things about that city?

Edinburgh!

  1. I enjoy wandering around the city and simply seeking out cute spots for coffee and brunch
  2. Edinburgh is so unique in terms of its architecture, culture and history
  3. Although Edinburgh is a city, it feels more like a big, friendly town. I love that it’s the home of so many successful start-up businesses.

What is your favourite food to eat? Why?

Probably the hardest question anyone could ever ask me, because, well food is life. If I had to choose though it would definitely be something sweet. Like chocolate cake, or cheesecake. Any kind of cake really.

What is your least favourite food to eat? Why?

Okay, brace yourself ‘cus this is a seriously unpopular opinion… but cheese. I’m not a massive fan of cheese. In fact, I’m not really a fan at all. (Kinda wish I was though, I feel like I’m missing out on all of the cheese-related hype).

What is your favourite restaurant to eat at, why and what do you order?

Again with the difficult questions – there’s just too many!  I love any kind of cuisine that involves lots of smaller plates that allows you to try the maximum amount on the menu, so I’d say Yeni is my fav. (Turkish Mezi, Hanover St.) It’s also the best option for nibblers that like to pinch food off of their partner’s plate (yes, I am an infamous chip pincher).

What is your favourite bar to drink at, why and what do you order?

I’m really into the sophisticated atmosphere at Bon Vivant (Thistle St.). After work on a Friday, there’s nothing better than a candlelit booth and a large glass of white.

Where is your favourite place to have a coffee, why and what do you order?

I love Wellington coffee on George Street. Partly because it’s literally 20 seconds from my door step, but also because it’s the quaintest little basement cafe with the most awesome pastries and even more awesome coffee.

You can only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hmm, probably sweet potato fries. They’re my crack.

What is your biggest food vice?

Definitely any kind of chocolate/ yoghurt covered nut. Y’know those bags of like yoghurt covered cranberries Holland & Barrett markets as healthy snacks? Yep, they’re not. I’ll literally eat a week’s recommended sugar intake and about 1,000 calories in one sitting. No exaggeration.

What is your favourite city for food? Any recommendations?

Rome! I’m probably biased because I visited recently, but there’s an abundance of great food spots that don’t just serve pizza and pasta. If you visit Rome, definitely visit Ginger for breakfast or lunch.

Fill in the gaps: If I had to be food I would be  ….. Because…

If I had to be a food I would be an olive because people tend not to be into them at first, but after a while they’ll realise that actually, olives are the bomb.COM.

What are your three favourite social media accounts to follow?  (Can be any form of social media)

I won’t lie – I stalk the Tasty Facebook page like every day.

I love Megan Ellaby’s Instagram. Her style is so unique and gives me mega inspirations when I’m feeling meh.

Obviously, Talor’s Instagram is one of my fav’s. It makes me hungry and usually pretty jealous, but still, I stalk it.

How I feel about lounging around in my pjs til 12pm and eating chocolate for breakfast😁🍫🐰
