Have You Met….Fionn Fionn Fionn?

Fionn, such a fantastic name you have to say it three times.

Fionn is one of those girls who is always wearing something fabulous and when you ask her where it is from she will tell you that she found it in a vintage store or charity shop, I am jealous of everyone who has the knack of finding gorgeous clothes in these stores.

Not only is she a fashionista she is a food fanatic, from coming up with recipes to writing restaurant reviews she has a passion for edible delights.

I thought it would be great to talk to Fionn about her favourite Glasgow eateries, as it is a city I love and want to get to know better.

Describe your blog in three words:

Indulgent, daft & hungry!

What made you start blogging?

Blogging had been something I’d thought of doing for ages. I talk a lot of nonsense & needed an outlet for my foodie adventures! I’ve had a lot of fun since I started my blog last summer & I think if you fancy it, you should give it a go! I’m a self confessed food addict & I love letting people know about food that I love.

Why should we follow your blog?

If you love food & drink (I know you do!) this blog features restaurants in Glasgow & Edinburgh with a splash of gin! My blog is pretty light hearted & easy reading if you want an honest review of restaurants!

What is your favourite food to eat? Why?

It has to be spaghetti Bolognese. I have been enchanted by ‘spag bol’ since I was tiny. I love to cook but I never ever make it! It’s more of a treat if it’s made for me!

What is your least favourite food to eat? Why?

Baked beans… Just why? The smell is enough to make me gag.

Where is your favourite place in Glasgow to eat and why?

Sapori D’Italia: It’s family run & hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. It has a great atmosphere, the staff is always amazing & there’s not much I can say to fault Sapori. Every time I’ve visited I’ve tried to order something new & I’ve been astounded  each time, you can taste the quality & authenticity in food. P.S. The pork cheek gnocchi is 10/10!

Where is your favourite place to drink and why?

Nice N Sleazy: This bar is super nostalgic for me. I frequented this weird & wonderful place when I was at uni. It has a laid back atmosphere, the bar plays great music & there’s even live music & club nights downstairs… Oh & a dang good White Russian!

Where is your favourite place to have a coffee and why?

Milk Cafe: I stay in the Southside of Glasgow & I am so proud to stay near a little gem like Milk Cafe! It has a chilled out atmosphere, the coffee & cakes are to die for too! They also provide employment opportunities for asylum seeking women & they do a great deal for the community.

You can only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bacon covered in cheese over fries… Does that count as the one thing? If not, it’s a Mexican standoff between bacon & cheese… I add them both to almost everything!

What is your biggest food vice?

Coated peanuts. I’m actually WILD about them. Sensations chilli coated crispy nuts, Nobby’s nuts. I can devour a whole packet in an hour at work, it’s horrendous… I am most definitely addicted.

What is your favourite city for food? Any recommendations?

I am discovering all the great foodie delights of Edinburgh at the moment. I really enjoyed B&D’s Chinese restaurant, it’s a tiny takeaway but you can sit in BYOB & enjoy some seriously tasty food! Badger & Co was also a good shout too! The whole restaurant & beer garden are based on The Wind & the Willows, 100% cute & the modern Scottish cuisine is something you need to try!

Fill in the gaps : If I had to be food I would be  ….. Because…

If I had to be food I would be BBQ ribs because I’m porky & usually covered in BBQ sauce!
