My girl friends and I went on holiday to Spain, we stayed in Puerto Banus, but went out in Marbella.
When it comes to eight girls being on holiday, things can get tricky deciding what to eat each night seeing as everyone has their own personal taste. However at the end of the day we always ended up with a great meal in front of us, and more importantly we had each others fabulous company.
This was a beautiful holiday and I would run back in a heart beat.
You can check out some of our antics in the video below, and underneath I will be having a wee chat about food.
Now, lets begin with the restaurants. The first one we visited was called La Taberna Del Pintxo and it was tapas, however it was a type of tapas restaurant that I have never experienced before.
The only way that I can explain it is by comparing it to Yo Sushi, you know how the prices are dependant on the colour of the plates? Well here it was dependant on what type of toothpick/stick was coming out of your food, so there would be hearts, swords or just normal toothpicks. Instead of you going up to choose the waiter would bring over two or three trays of options and explain what they were and you could take it or leave it.
The food was good, if you didn’t like bread you were pretty screwed, and once the waiter had brought over one option….he wouldn’t come back with it, which was quite annoying. I ended up having a little chicken curry thing, mushroom wrapped aubergine, ham croquettes, spinach pastry, goats cheese parcel and chorizo on bread.
Overall: 6/10 La Taberna del Pintxo
Next up is Villa Tiberio, a beautiful restaurant with an incredible atmosphere, you can’t help but feel special. It was originally a large Villa that has been turned into a restaurant, and I can imagine someone special lived there. The atmosphere was lovely because of the live music, the twinkling lights and the outside decor of marble statues and fountains (We were sat outside). Inside you will find a million and one pictures of the owner with many celebrities and once you look at one you can’t stop.
This restaurant had incredibly friendly waiters, (when I say friendly I mean….REALLY friendly.) It was Bex and I’s birthday so we also had a delicious chocolate cake to end our time at Villa Tiberio. Altogether a memorable restaurant that I would visit again.
8/10 Villa Tiberio
We were all DESPERATE for tapas, we literally ran around in circles looking for some, we were hungry, tired and needing the loo, so after we had ran past the same restaurant three times we decided just to go there.
It wasn’t very good, which was a mutual agreement amongst all of us, and that is me being polite. It was incredibly disappointing because everything came with soggy chips, and the majority of it was bland and tasteless. I had the stuffed squid (yuck), the meatballs (tried a nibble of one didn’t want any more they were clearly frozen), and the goats cheese and caramelised onions (you can’t really go wrong with this, I am glad I ordered it because otherwise I would have been hungry).
No, I wouldn’t go back.
We were incredibly lucky to have two BBQ’s and a ton of kitchen equipment in our beautiful villa, so we thought we would make the most of it.
Shout out to everyone who helped prepare and cook all of our breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the holiday. They were all stunningly delicious.
Here are some pics to make your mouth water.
And let’s not forget the cheeky Burger King at the airport, it wouldn’t have been a girls holiday with out it….
