Talor Tries…. Reviewing Henri

I was asked by Stockbridge Edinburgh to do a short video review of Henri’s on Raeburn Place, this was a completely new adventure for me and I have to say I really enjoyed it.

This is the video review, and the written review is underneath….

Now, lets get down to business…     It has a very rustic front to it as if it has literally been snapped up from Paris and placed into the middle of Edinburgh, and from the outside you would not expect what was on the inside. It was a lot larger than I imagined, filled to the brim with people (I was slightly concerned we weren’t going to get a table) and was bursting with delicious looking food. This ranged from cheese, meat, wine, bread, chutneys… the list can go on. Everything looked beautiful  and fresh, and I couldn’t wait to sit down.

The waitress we had was super lovely and smiley, and the waiter who gave me the cheese and meat board explained it all to me which was great as I was clueless!

The coffee was divine, I had a cappuccino (original of me) and it was very smooth with a generous amount of froth (just how I like it).

We ordered :

Greek yoghurt with a vanilla poached pear and nut granola – I didn’t get to try this but it looked divine.

The bacon brioche, which was a toasted brioche roll with lettuce, bacon and cheese, and on the side came a chilli chutney. This was lovely, the cheese made a HUGE difference, it is amazing what you can do to the simple bacon roll to make it that little bit extra special.

Last but not least the ‘Cheese and Charcuterie Assiettes’ or as I like to call it, a cheese and meat board as I am incapable of speaking the beautiful French language. There are many types, you can order for one person (my choice), for two people, a mixed board, just a meat board or a just a cheese board. I asked for a mix as I am greedy and always want a bit of everything!

When it was placed in front of me I thought I would manage the whole thing, but turns out I really couldn’t however I did try my hardest!! The free refill of bread was probably filling me up too fast…woops! Everything was truly delicious though, I loved the variety and being able to mix and match.

My time at Henri was fab, and I had great fun filming a video review!

The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious.

What more could you ask for?
