I don’t know about you, but I have always known the name of this place because of the sign that sticks out like a sore thumb on Northumberland Street, and I personally adore Mexican food so I had to try it one day.
It is hidden away and yet is still very busy, especially popular among the students! It is bright, colourful and plays cheerful Mexican music to you and has many places to sit if you are not wishing to take away. It is laid out like a Subway; however instead of plain old boring sandwiches you get the choice of, fajitas, burritos, tacos etc. I personally was in heaven, I chose a burrito, which has coriander and lime rice, lettuce, beans, salsa and sour cream, once you have chosen this you choose the meat or veggie option you would like inside and I chose the sweet shredded pork. It then goes on to choose what kind of beans you would like – mild or spicy and then what type of salsa , there are four different options!
For my burrito on this occasion I went with mild flavours just to see what everything tasted like, however next time I feel as though I will definitely be going down the spicy route.
My first bite of my first burrito from Zapatista was a little piece of heaven, and the entire burrito certainly filled me up for the rest of the day.
I personally cannot wait for my next one!
p.s it is very hard to take a nice picture of a burrito!
