This little cafe is hidden in Grainger Market in Newcastle, it is very well decorated and looks sweet!
All cupcakes and brownies where 1.50 but you could get four for a fiver! It is all very simple, you can get your classic coffees and tea’s and the prices where great!
The girl that was serving us was very friendly and found it funny that I kept telling Lewis I wanted a nutella brownie….
So we ordered a Nutella brownie (obviously), an Oreo brownie, a salted caramel cupcake and a peanut butter cup cupcake, this was our cinema snack because we are a couple of fattys, plus Lewis works in a cafe….so I’m going to claim I was eating a lot of cake for ‘research’…anyway!
We had the cupcakes in the cinema, (after my nacho’s obviously), and truth be told they were disappointing. The salted caramel cupcake was just normal vanilla icing with caramel inside, and the peanut butter cup one was basically a vanilla cupcake with half a peanut butter cup stuffed on the top…(NOT EVEN A WHOLE ONE)
If I knew it would be just a vanilla cupcake I wouldn’t have been disappointed at all, as it was moist and the icing good, but not even a hint of peanut butter or nuts on the inside….
Lewis who knows a lot more about baking than I do said that the brownies had too much baking powder in them so they weren’t that proper brownie gooey texture, however i enjoyed my Nutella one!
Note – don’t eat on the metro they go everywhere and people stare at you..
On the website it describes the cupcakes as what I would have expected, obviously they were not on top form when I went in.
